The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.
William Morris, 1884.
William Morris (24 March 1834 – 3 October 1896) was the leading designer and utopian thinker of 19th-century England. He is widely regarded as the founder of the fantasy genre. He is best known as the spiritual father of the Arts and Crafts movement. He was a man of many talents, working in literature, book design, printing and publishing, wallpaper, textiles, tiles, carpets, furniture, stained glass and interior design. (Wikipedia)
Strawberry Thief is one of William Morris's most popular repeating textile designs. It is based on the thrushes Morris saw stealing fruit from the kitchen garden at his country home, Kelmscott Manor, in Oxfordshire. We carry this design in three colour variations as well as several other patterns by William Morris or inspired by William Morris.
